(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) Muscat- After a series of successful editions, a bright and sunny winter afternoon oversaw the 5th edition of the Europcar Open at the beautiful Almouj Golf Course.
The challenge saw golfers from all over Muscat swing their clubs to some challenging holes. This year's challenge witnessed an overwhelming response from golfers with a 100 players participating on the 18-hole championship course and 30 players on the Part 3 Academy course.
One of the key highlights of the event was a first ever 'hole-in-one'. Michele Andreasen was the first person to achieve a hole-in-one. This is regarded as a once in a lifetime achievement amongst many professional golfers and Michele was the proud winner of this trophy.

The Europcar Open Golf Challenge 2017 was partnered by Mistal Boutique, the luxury watch and jewellery boutique by Ajit Khimji Group. The watch that was presented was an exquisite Vacheron-Constantin timepiece from Mistal. Key individuals present at the event were H E Dr Al Rumhi, Azaan al Rumhi, who is revered as Oman's best golfer, H E Manabile Shogole, South Africa's Ambassador to Oman, and Richard Grosse, Singapore Council General.
