DUBAI December 28, 2017: Sustainable Mindz, a Dubai-headquartered organization for sustainability and corporate responsibility strategies, has launched the first ‘Happiness @ Work' award in the UAE in partnership with Forbes Middle East. This is in line with the UAE happiness strategy, outlined by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The Happiness @ Work Award is all set to recognize the quotient of happiness existing among the corporate entities of the region. The award reiterates His Highness Sheikh Mohammed's vision of making the UAE one of the happiest nations across the world.
Ms. Noora Mohammad, Founding Partner of Sustainable Mindz, said, 'The Happiness @ Work Award, a first-of-its-kind initiative in in the UAE and the region, was launched in July 2017 and looks at recognising organisations from both private and public sectors that are game-changers, forward-thinking and strive to do things differently by putting their workforce at the heart of its operation.
'Our workplace is an integral part of our lives in the UAE hence the acknowledgment of a happy employee being more productive, more energetic and more creative is significant. This Awards will highlight companies, which are making a conscious effort towards creating a happy workplace culture that nurtures, engages employees towards a sustainable future. This Award aims to highlight leading examples of orgnisations that actively look at creating a workplace culture that nurtures and engages employees and reinforces their role in a sustainable future, she added.
With an impressive lineup of eminent judges, the jury will evaluate participating corporates across five different categories including the Best Workplace Wellness Program, the Best Workers Welfare Program, the Best Employee Engagement Program, the Best Work-Life Balance Program, the Best Workplace Sustainability Program. The jury will also pick the Happiest Workplace.
The jury comprises of academicians, corporate consultants and experts in the sustainable sector with vast experience on how to integrate sustainability in the workplace. The jury panel includes Dr. Saamdu Chetri, Visiting Professor at Indian Institute of Technology-Kharagpur, West Bengal, India; Dr. Mansoor Anwar Habib, Senior Director of Employee Wellness & Happiness at du; Dr. Yasmin Al Bulushi, Dean of Muscat College in Oman; and Ms. Jane Fiona Cumming, Co-Founding Partner and Director of Article 13 in the UK.
Dr. Saamdu Chetri says that the Award is an initiative for curing the present sufferance for a saner future of humanity. 'My involvement with this initiative is to bring awareness to the world to realise that there is only one medicine called ‘Happiness' to cure the great divides of this planet; divide from self with self, self with others and self with nature. This Award will help make the world sustainable by helping revive the dying society and languishing planet.

The Happiness @ Work Award is open for all organizations to participate until January 18, 2018. The winners will be declared in March 2018.
