Defence minister attends Qatar Emiri Air Force event


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The Qatar Emiri Air Force yesterday celebrated the conclusion of the 2017 training year, under the patronage and presence of HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah, at the Air Defence Training Centre. In all 227 officers, non-commissioned officers and individuals graduated during the ceremony of the Emiri Air Force, and Emiri Guard Command. They underwent advanced courses in air defence systems, eight of which were held at the Doha Air Defence Training Centre and five in the United States. Brig General Hamad bin Mubarak al-Dawai, Commander of the Emiri Air Defence Forces, gave a speech in which he referred to the qualitative shift of training capabilities in the field of air defence, since the inauguration of Air Defence Training Centre last year. The Emiri Air Defence Forces have formed the training team of the officers and individuals with expertise in all required fields, in addition to using some trainers from countries such as Kuwait and Jordan to benefit from their long experience in this field, he added. The commander of the Emiri Air Defence Forces concluded his speech by thanking His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs and the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces for their continuous support.
