Saudi-led strikes kill 68 civilians in Yemen

(MENAFN) According to the United Nations, two air strikes by the Saudi-led alliance fighting in Yemen's civil war killed more than 68 civilians in just one day this week.

Initial reports from the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights showed that 8 children were among the 54 victims of Tuesday's strike.

At least 8,750 people got killed and 50,000 injured since the Saudi-led alliance got involved in the conflict between forces loyal to Yemen's government and the rebel Houthi movement in March 2015.

The fighting has also led to leaving about 20.7m people in need of humanitarian aid, created the biggest food security emergency in the world, and led to a cholera spread believed to have killed 2,227 people since April.
