(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, Dec 26 (KUNA) -- Unity amongst Arab and Islamic countries is need to counter all acts of terrorism and violence, said a Kuwaiti legislator Tuesday.
Speaking to KUNA on the sideline of the Arab League committee on foreign, political, and Arab national security affairs, Kuwaiti National Assembly MP and member of the Arab Parliament Ali Al-Deqbasi told KUNA the current status quo in the region required unity amongst Arab countries.
The numerous terror attacks targeting several Arab nations in addition to the recent threat posed by the US decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and move the American embassy to the holy city urges Arabs and Muslims to band together, said the Kuwaiti legislator.
Al-Deqbasi also noted that the continuous Israeli aggression and disregard to the rights of the Palestinian people was another kind of terrorism that the Arab world should work on countering.
The crises in Libya, Yemen, and Syria are also issues that needs the attention of the Arab League to find means to resolve these issues without any further bloodshed, said Al-Deqbasi. (end) mfm.gta
