Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammed Ali Sobhani praised the bilateral relations between his country and the State of Qatar and described them as ancient and historic, highlighting many religious and cultural ties between the two countries, based on bonds of brotherhood, affection, good-neighbourliness and mutual respect throughout history.

In a statement to QNA, the ambassador congratulated H H the Emir, the government and the people of Qatar on the occasion of the National Day of the country, wishing Qatar and its noble people more progress and prosperity.

The Ambassador underlined that the relations between the two countries are growing stronger every day; this shows the firm will and determination of the leaders of the two neighbouring countries to move forward in order to promote and expand joint cooperation in all fields and at all levels.

The Ambassador said that the siege imposed on Qatar is unjust, inhuman and immoral and have no real causes or justifications, praising the wise leadership of Qatar, its management of the crisis and its rational actions.

He also praised the leadership for its wisdom and ethics in dealing with the problem. He said the Qatari wisdom, which managed the crisis, led to the failure of the plan aimed at dominating Qatar which succeeded in facing this siege and overcame the crisis despite all difficulties. He praised the Qatari people who stood proudly in support for their leadership, adding that the welcome reception of Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani when he returned from the United Nations is the best proof of this.
