Pakistan- KP govt decides to act against factory owners not paying minimum wages to workers


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR, 7 December: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to take action against owners of factories and industries who are not paying minimum wages to workers fixed by the government.

The KP Chief Secretary issued directions while chairing a meeting of the Labour Department on Wednesday that salaries to workers should be paid through bank accounts. He said these directions have been issued to make sure that the workers are getting minimum Rs15,000 salary as fixed by the government. He also directed that lists of such factory and industry owners should be prepared who are not paying minimum wages to their workers.

The chief secretary directed that instead of managers, cases should be registered against owners of factories who are not complying with the rules.
