Emirati singer evicted from The Voice jury for tweeting against Tell Qatar song

Arabic version of popular talent show The Voice replaced Emirati singer for her tweet in response to the new song "', by Emirati poet Ali Al Khawar.

MBC Channel that airs the popular show has replaced Emirati singer Ahlam with Kuwaiti musical icon Nawal Al Kuwaitia.

According to Arab News this decision was taken following a tweet by Ahlam regarding her wish for return of true form of fine arts. "I wish fine and true art would come back," Ahlam wrote in her tweet.

The news regarding the replacement was announced by Nawal Al Kuwaitia herself on her twitter page.

Ahlam posted two tweets later, with one indicating that the tweet she had made was an hour before the release of "Tell Qatar" on YouTube. In the second tweet she said that she loves her country and no one can question it.

Meanwhile "Tell Qatar" is song released by Emirati artiststhat consists of warnings directed to Qatar, with a chorus that advises it not to "enter the danger zone" and for it to contain its actions that are "out of line".

The gulf twitterati took the Ahlam replacement issue up making it viral with many speaking up in support and few against the star.

It was revealed that both the first and second parts of 'The Voice have already been filmed. The first episode will be aired on Dec. 2 on MBC.

MBC has neither confirmed nor denied the reports regarding the change.
