(MENAFNEditorial) Online PR News 26-February-2017 New York City, NY An inaugural event, bringing together leading professionals from the fields of architecture and design, technology, healthcare, education and government is being hosted to promote accessibility and ensure inclusion and equality for people of diverse abilities and backgrounds, no matter their size or age.
The one day event, to be held on March 09, 2017 at the Center for Architecture in New York City, aims to propagate the popularity of universal design and the need for universal accessibility. The event will showcase a number of short, 18 minute talks on ideas, initiatives and projects to inspire individuals to endeavor to incorporate universal design in their design process.
Changing demographics are altering the landscape of design of both products and the built environments, neither of which will have any meaning if they lack thoughtful design with accessibility in mind. Keeping in mind human diversity, functionality and sustainability has become fundamental when designing with social inclusion in mind.
The term universal design refers to broad-spectrum ideas for designing buildings, products, and environments that are accessible to all people, across all ages, abilities, and activities.
This event will be hosted by American Institute of Architects in New York's Design for Aging Committee alongside Universal Design Management, LLC and AEC Professional's Circle. All registered architects will receive 8 Learning Units for Health, Safety and Wellness.
