Afghanistan, India Set For Test And Three-Match ODI Series In June

(MENAFN- Khaama Press) The Afghanistan national cricket team is scheduled to play a Test match against the India national cricket team next week, followed by a three-match One Day International (ODI) series in India, according to reports cited by the BBC.

The Test match is scheduled to be played from June 6 to June 10 in New Chandigarh, India. Afghanistan's national side will then remain in India for three ODI matches later in the month.

According to the provisional schedule, the first ODI will be held in Dharamsala on June 14, the second in Lucknow on June 17 and the third in Chennai on June 20. Reports noted that the schedule remains subject to change.

The series will provide Afghanistan with an important opportunity to compete against one of the world's strongest cricket teams and gain experience in different playing conditions ahead of upcoming international tournaments.

Afghanistan has emerged as a major force in international cricket over the past decade, earning Test status in 2017 and producing several high-profile performances against top-ranked teams. The country's players have also become regular participants in leading franchise leagues around the world.

India and Afghanistan have maintained close cricketing ties in recent years. India has hosted numerous Afghanistan home matches and training camps, providing venues and facilities while Afghanistan's cricket infrastructure continues to develop.

The upcoming fixtures are expected to attract significant attention from cricket fans across South Asia, particularly following Afghanistan's strong performances in recent global tournaments and India's continued status as one of the sport's leading nations.
