QF Celebrates Participants And Coaches At Ability Friendly Programme Recognition Awards

Doha, Qatar: The Ability Friendly Programme, part of Qatar Foundation's Pre-University Education celebrated athletes with different abilities and promoted inclusive sports during the annual Ability Friendly Programme Recognition Awards ceremony, held at Multaqa (Education City Student Center).

The event honoured 245 athletes who have participated in the programme since its launch, reflecting its ongoing commitment to inclusion, personal growth, and building a supportive community for children and youth of all abilities.

Over the years, the Qatar Foundation (QF) programme has provided participants with opportunities to develop confidence, independence, and teamwork through sports and development activities, while fostering a strong support network that brings together athletes, families, coaches, volunteers, and partners.

Executive Director of the Qatar Sports For All Federation, Abdallah Al Dosari said:“The ceremony represents a meaningful annual initiative that celebrates the achievements and dedication of students and participants, while highlighting the positive impact sport can have in building confidence, strengthening social connections, and enhancing quality of life.”

“Our continued collaboration with QF reflects a shared commitment to providing inclusive sporting opportunities for all members of society, particularly people with disabilities, while expanding community participation in sports and reinforcing the importance of inclusion and equal opportunities within society.”

Vice Chairman of the Referees Committee at the Qatar Football Association, Jassim Al-Hail said,“We are proud of the impactful role QF continues to play in serving the community and supporting future generations through meaningful sports initiatives and events.”

“It was an honour to contribute to this experience, which reflected the spirit of collaboration and highlighted the important role sport plays in promoting community values, inclusion, and positive social impact.”

Events Officer at QF's Ability Friendly Programme, Nigel D'Souza said,“The ceremony represents one of the most meaningful moments of the year for our athletes, families, coaches, and staff, as it celebrates the achievements, growth, and dedication demonstrated by every participant throughout the season.”

“The event reflects the core mission of the Ability Friendly Programme, which is to provide inclusive sporting opportunities that empower children and youth of all abilities to build confidence, develop life skills, strengthen social connections, and experience a true sense of belonging within their communities.

“Beyond celebrating medals and accomplishments, the event also highlights the importance of inclusion, teamwork, perseverance, and wellbeing, while recognising the collective support provided by families, volunteers, coaches, and partners, all of whom play a vital role in each athlete's journey.
