SpaceX Tests Upgraded Starship in Major Launch
(MENAFN) SpaceX has successfully launched its most powerful Starship rocket to date, continuing development work aimed at future missions to the Moon and Mars, according to reports.
The rocket lifted off on Friday from the company’s Starbase facility in Texas, carrying simulated Starlink satellites as part of its 12th integrated test flight.
The launch followed recent remarks by SpaceX founder Elon Musk about plans to take the company public.
According to SpaceX updates shared online, the upgraded Starship completed a controlled flip maneuver before making a targeted splashdown in the Indian Ocean near a buoy marked with the Starlink logo.
The company has carried out multiple Starship test flights in recent years as part of its long-term goal of enabling human settlement on Mars, while also expanding tests focused on landing and recovery systems ahead of potential crewed missions.
