Jordan Welcomes Agreement To Release Over 1,600 Yemeni Detainees
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Fuad Majali said Jordan's hosting of the talks reflects its continued support for UN, Arab, and international efforts to achieve peace, security, and stability in Yemen, in line with the aspirations of the Yemeni people.
Majali also commended the efforts of UN Special Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg in reaching the humanitarian agreement on the detainee release, according to a ministry statement.
He also commended the role of the International Committee of the Red Cross and the concerned parties in securing what he described as the largest detainee release since the beginning of the Yemeni conflict.
