Jordan Dispatches Humanitarian Aid to Lebanon
(MENAFN) Jordan dispatched an 18-vehicle humanitarian convoy to Lebanon on Thursday — its fourth such mission since the crisis deepened — carrying critical medical supplies, infant formula, and essential relief goods, the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) announced.
The latest delivery brings Jordan's cumulative relief effort to 78 trucks across four land convoys, underscoring an accelerating response to a humanitarian emergency that has shown no signs of abating.
JHCO Secretary-General Hussein Shibli said that the sustained aid shipments reflect Jordan's commitment to supporting regional partners in times of crisis.
The urgency of that commitment is underscored by a rapidly worsening situation on the ground. Lebanon's humanitarian landscape collapsed following the breakdown of a ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel that had been in place since November 2024. The truce unraveled on March 2 after a Hezbollah rocket strike on Israel triggered a sweeping and intensified Israeli military campaign across Lebanese territory.
The toll has been devastating. Lebanese health authorities, cited Thursday by a news agency, reported that Israeli attacks since March 2 have killed 2,715 people and left 8,353 others wounded — figures that continue to climb.
