Palestinian Church Affairs Committee Signs Cooperation Deal
(MENAFN) The Higher Presidential Committee for Church Affairs in Palestine entered into a memorandum of understanding on Friday with the World Council of Churches in Geneva, aiming to strengthen collaboration and design joint initiatives that support Palestinians.
As reported by Wafa, the Palestinian official news agency, the agreement was concluded during a visit by a Palestinian delegation to the council’s headquarters in Switzerland, with committee chairman Ramzi Khoury in attendance.
The accord concentrates on backing initiatives grounded in the principles of justice, peace, and safeguarding human dignity, in addition to reinforcing the visibility of the Palestinian cause on the global stage.
The delegation additionally held discussions with World Council of Churches Secretary-General Jerry Pillay regarding the expansion of cooperation and the intensification of international advocacy efforts in support of Palestinians, while also highlighting the necessity of preserving the Christian presence in the Holy Land.
Further sessions took place at the Ecumenical Institute in Bossey, located near Geneva, where participants examined ways to implement the memorandum and defined practical measures to launch and activate the planned joint programs.
