Moscow, April 21 (Petra) -- Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov warned on Tuesday of what he described as a state of stagnation in efforts to establish a Palestinian state and a halt in related negotiations, saying the situation is worsening the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.

"The current situation, marked by the suspension of negotiations on the establishment of a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international law and UN Security Council resolutions, is exacerbating the suffering of the Palestinian people in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip," Lavrov said during a press conference.

"Russia has repeatedly warned of the stagnation and suspension of these negotiations," he added.
