Fazlur Rehman Calls For Imran Khan's Release, Warns Of Global War Risk
Speaking to the media in Lahore, he said the current tensions in the Middle East could take a dangerous turn and, if not controlled, may escalate into a major global war.
He added that Gulf states need to seriously consider the impact of US military bases, while Pakistan is trying to ease tensions through mediation.
He warned that if the situation persists, other global powers could also become involved in the conflict, further worsening the situation.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman described the defence cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan as a positive development. However, he said that the CPEC project slowed down during Imran Khan's tenure and has yet to be fully revived.
He also stressed the need for continuity and improvement in policies, stating that the current rulers do not remain in power for long.
He further revealed that contacts with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have not reached any conclusive outcome.
On the issue of religious seminaries, he said that there has been little difference in policies from the era of Pervez Musharraf to PTI and the current government, adding that issues such as madrassa registration and opening bank accounts still remain unresolved.
