Prime Minister, Cyprus Foreign Minister Discuss Regional Developments
Doha, Qatar: Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, today, April 7, 2026, received HE Dr. Constantinos Kombos, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus, who is currently visiting the country.
During the meeting, they reviewed the developments of the military escalation in the region and its dangerous repercussions on regional and international security and stability, and its economic effects on various countries of the world, and emphasized the importance of freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, in addition to discussing ways to resolve all disputes by peaceful means,
The Prime Minister affirmed, during the meeting, the necessity of stopping Iran's unjustified attacks on Qatar and the countries of the region, warning in this context of the consequences of the irresponsible targeting of vital infrastructure, especially that related to water and food and energy facilities.
His Excellency also stressed the necessity of enhancing coordination and intensifying joint efforts, and returning to the negotiating table, and prioritizing the language of reason and wisdom to contain the crisis, in a way that ensures global energy security, freedom of navigation, environmental safety, and preserves regional stability.
