Pakistan, Egypt Begin Joint Counter-Terrorism Exercise

(MENAFN) Pakistan has initiated a two-week counter-terrorism training operation with Egyptian military forces in the northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

As stated by reports, the exercise, known as Pakistan–Egypt Joint Exercise Thunder-II, began at the Special Operations School in Cherat. Elite special forces from both countries are participating in the drill, focusing on sharing tactics and operational experience.

The initiative is intended to strengthen “professional skills through joint training” and further develop “the longstanding military-to-military relations between the two friendly countries,” according to reports. Organizers also highlighted that such collaborations improve coordination, readiness, and interoperability between the two armies in handling complex counter-terrorism scenarios.

This joint exercise reflects the ongoing commitment of both Pakistan and Egypt to enhance regional security and foster closer defense cooperation. It also serves as a platform for exchanging knowledge and best practices in specialized operations, reinforcing the strategic partnership between the two nations.
