Amir Receives Telephone Call From Indian Prime Minister
Doha, Qatar: The Amir His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani received a telephone call today from His Excellency Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of the Republic of India.
At the beginning of the call, His Highness the Amir reassured the Prime Minister about the situation of the Indian community residing in the State of Qatar. The Prime Minister expressed his deep gratitude to His Highness the Amir for the care and attention that the State of Qatar provides to the Indian community during these exceptional circumstances.
The two sides also discussed the military developments in the region, with the Prime Minister expressing his country's condemnation of the Iranian aggression against the State of Qatar as a blatant violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity, and affirming India's solidarity with Qatar and its people in these circumstances.
Both sides emphasized the importance of working towards restoring regional peace and stability as soon as possible, stressing the need to halt the escalation and return to the path of political dialogue and negotiations as a means to contain the crisis and safeguard the security of the region.
