Anné Hendrik Verhoef is a professor in philosophy at the Faculty of Arts at the North-West University's Potchefstroom Campus and the director of the university's AI Hub. He studied at the University of Stellenbosch and at the Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium. His research interests are in metaphysics, ethics, the philosophy of religion, the philosophy of Paul Ricoeur, philosophy of happiness, systematic theology and the philosophy of education. His research focuses mainly on transcendence and the transcendent in contemporary culture. He is the author/co-author of various chapters in books and articles in national and international scientific journals. He is a NRF Rated researcher and a former associate editor of the journal 'Transformation in Higher Education'.
