Prof Shahram Akbarzadeh is Director of the Middle East Studies Forum (MESF) at Deakin University. He is a Non-Resident Senior Fellow at the Middle East Council on Global Affairs (Doha), and the author of Middle East Politics and International Relations: Crisis Zone (2022).
He has an active research interest in the politics of Central Asia, Islam, Muslims in Australia and the Middle East. His book was listed in the top 10 best books in IR: Middle East Politics and International Relations: Crisis Zone (Routledge, 2022)
