Apple Unveils New Ipad Air With M4: Faster Performance, AI Upgrades And Ipados 26


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Apple on Monday evening officially introduced the new iPad Air powered by the M4 chip, delivering a significant performance leap while maintaining the same starting price in the UAE.

Starting at Dh2,499 for the 11-inch model and Dh3,299 for the 13-inch version, the new iPad Air offers up to 30 percent faster performance than its M3 predecessor and up to 2.3x faster speeds compared to M1 models. Pre-orders open March 4, with availability from March 11.

M4 chip delivers major performance boost

The M4 chip features an 8-core CPU and 9-core GPU, unlocking faster editing, smoother multitasking and console-level gaming. With second-generation hardware-accelerated ray tracing and mesh shading, graphics performance is dramatically improved, delivering over 4x faster 3D rendering compared to iPad Air with M1.

Creative professionals using apps like Final Cut Pro and Pixelmator Pro will notice quicker exports and smoother workflows, while gamers benefit from more realistic lighting, reflections and shadows.

N1 and C1X bring next-gen connectivity

For the first time, iPad Air includes Apple-designed connectivity chips. The N1 wireless chip enables Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and Thread support for faster and more reliable connections. Cellular models feature the C1X modem, delivering up to 50 per cent faster cellular data speeds while using up to 30 per cent less energy.

iPadOS 26 and advanced accessories

Running iPadOS 26, the new iPad Air introduces a redesigned interface with Liquid Glass, a new windowing system, enhanced file management and a dedicated Preview app.

Support for Apple Pencil Pro, Apple Pencil (USB-C) and Magic Keyboard further enhances productivity, making iPad Air a versatile device for creativity, work and entertainment.

The 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Air with M4 will be available in blue, purple, starlight, and space gray, with 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB configurations . Pre-orders open March 4, with availability from March 11.
