Israel, US Carry Out Widespread Strikes Across Iran

(MENAFN) Reports indicate that Israel and the United States have targeted more than 2,000 locations across Iran since the launch of a coordinated military operation early on Saturday.

The offensive, which began Saturday morning, has involved extensive aerial strikes. Military authorities stated that thousands of munitions have been deployed and over 700 sorties have been conducted across Iranian territory since the campaign began.

The targets reportedly included senior political and military figures, among them Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), as well as air defense systems, ballistic missiles and their launchers, intelligence facilities, and key command centers.

Officials noted that Israeli and US forces collaborated for months to assemble a detailed list of targets, dedicating thousands of hours to intelligence gathering and operational planning in preparation for the offensive.

The joint operation reportedly resulted in the deaths of several top Iranian leaders, including Khamenei. In response, Tehran launched a series of drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, US installations, and multiple countries in the Gulf.

This escalation mirrors a previous US-Israeli operation against Iran last June, which sparked a 12-day conflict before a ceasefire was reached.
