Minor Fire At West Doha Power And Water Station: Kuwait Ministry

Fuel tanks at the West Doha Power and Water Desalination Station caught fire after a drone was intercepted and a fragment struck the facility, the official spokesperson for the Kuwait Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, Engineer Fatima Abbas Jawhar Hayat, confirmed.

The station's security and safety teams responded quickly and put out the minor fire in accordance with approved procedures and emergency plans. They contained and controlled the fire, and technical inspections of all units and equipment are still underway.

Engineer Hayat confirmed that no one was injured and the damage was limited to minor material losses. Specialised teams are still monitoring the situation and taking all necessary precautions.

The Ministry reassures citizens and residents that the country's electricity and water systems are working normally and are fully prepared for any emergency. It also urges everyone to get information only from official sources.
