Türkiye Posts 3.6 Percent Economic Growth in 2025

(MENAFN) Türkiye's economy expanded by 3.6% in 2025 compared to the previous year, official data revealed, signaling a continued recovery trajectory for one of the region's largest emerging markets, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) announced Monday.

The country's gross domestic product climbed to 63 trillion Turkish liras, equivalent to $1.59 trillion, marking a substantial jump from 44.6 trillion liras — or $1.36 trillion — recorded throughout 2024, according to official government figures released by TurkStat.

On a per capita basis, Türkiye's GDP stood at 712,200 Turkish liras, translating to approximately $18,040 per person last year, reflecting modest but measurable income growth across the nation's population of over 85 million citizens.

Momentum carried firmly into the final stretch of the year, with TurkStat reporting that GDP rose by 3.4% in the fourth quarter alone — a figure that analysts say reinforces confidence in Ankara's broader economic stabilization efforts heading into 2026.

The results come as Turkish authorities continue navigating elevated inflation and tightening monetary policy, with policymakers aiming to sustain growth while restoring long-term price stability across key economic sectors.
