Honor Rolls Out World's First 'Robot Phone'
(MENAFN) Chinese technology brand Honor stormed onto the global stage Sunday, unveiling what it claims is the world's first "Robot Phone" and introducing a bold new artificial intelligence philosophy — just ahead of the 2026 Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona.
At a high-profile global launch event, Honor Chief Executive Officer Li Jian positioned the device as an entirely new category of smartphone, anchored by what the company says is the industry's first three-axis gimbal camera system ever integrated into a mobile device.
The Robot Phone fuses two flagship AI capabilities — embodied intelligent interaction and premium-grade imaging — to deliver what Honor describes as a fully embodied AI experience. The handset supports full-angle AI video calls, expressive body-language interaction, and rhythmic motion response, while also offering cinema-quality imaging powered by advanced anti-shake video technology and AI-driven object tracking.
Beyond the hardware, Honor used the event to formally introduce its concept of Augmented Human Intelligence (AHI) — a people-first vision of how artificial intelligence should evolve.
"The essence of artificial intelligence is people-centered," Li said. "It should combine intelligence quotient (IQ) with emotional intelligence (EQ), enhancing humanity's ability to adapt, evolve and enjoy the present in a rapidly changing world. That is the AHI philosophy Honor believes in."
Sunday's event also marked the global debut of Honor's flagship foldable, the Magic V6 — an ultra-slim device folding to just 8.75 mm in thickness — alongside the company's first-ever humanoid robot, which made its public debut on the same stage.
MWC 2026 officially opens Monday, running through March 5 across a sprawling show floor in Barcelona featuring more than 100 pavilions representing countries, regions, and emerging technologies worldwide.
