Kuwaiti Khaled Al-Otaibi Assumes Role As AEO Sec. Gen.

KUWAIT, March 1 (KUNA) -- Eng. Khalid Al-Otaibi assumed Sunday his duties as Secretary-General of the Arab Energy Organization (formerly OAPEC), following the decision of the organization's Council of Ministers during its 115th meeting held in Kuwait on December 14, 2025.
While speaking to KUNA, Al-Otaibi expressed gratitude to the Council for the confidence placed in him, pledging to meet expectations in leading the organization.
He affirmed his commitment to advancing the organization's vital projects, restructuring it to align with global energy developments, and enhancing focus on energy, environment, climate change, and energy transition issues.
Noting current challenges facing the energy sector, Al-Otaibi emphasized the Secretariat's dedication to exerting every effort to serve the interests of all member states. (end)
