Jordan Stresses Need To Boost Security, Reduce Regional Tensions


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) AMMAN, March 1 (KUNA) -- Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Sunday emphasized the need to intensify efforts to ensure security and stability and pursue diplomacy to resolve crises and de-escalate tensions in the region.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the remarks came during a phone call with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, discussing the recent dangerous escalation in the region.
Safadi condemned unjustified Iranian attacks on Jordanian territory and other Arab states, affirming that Jordan will take all necessary measures to protect its citizens, security, stability and sovereignty, while appreciating US solidarity.
The US Secretary of State reaffirmed Washington's support for Jordan in facing Iranian attacks and backing all steps taken to safeguard its citizens, security, and sovereignty. (end)
