Trump Says US Has “Very Good Idea” About Iran’s Next Leadership
(MENAFN) US President Donald Trump said Saturday that Washington has “a very good idea” about who could assume leadership in Iran, claiming that “a lot” of the country’s current leadership has been killed in recent US-Israeli military strikes.
Speaking by phone with a news outlet, Trump described the operation as going “very well.” When asked whether Iranian leaders had been eliminated, he replied, "A lot of it is, yeah. But we don’t know all, but a lot of it is. Was a very powerful strike."
On the question of who might succeed Iran’s current leadership, Trump said, "Yes. We have a very good idea."
Regarding the duration of ongoing military operations, the president said, "As long as we wanted to, actually," adding, "But it's done such damage already. It's like, they are incapacitated."
