Business Forum of Türkiye, Egypt Concludes in Cairo

(MENAFN) The closing session of the Türkiye-Egypt Business Forum began in Cairo on Wednesday, coinciding with the official visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Egypt.
Erdogan was welcomed upon arrival by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. Egypt’s Extra News channel reported that the forum’s closing session included wide participation from business communities, financial institutions, and economic representatives from both countries.

Key discussions at the session are set to focus on mutual investment opportunities, boosting trade exchanges, signing new trade agreements, and strengthening partnerships between the private sectors of Türkiye and Egypt. Both Erdogan and Sisi are scheduled to participate in the forum’s final session later today.

The forum’s first session was held in early February in El Alamein, Egypt. It is regarded as one of the largest business gatherings between the two countries, hosting roughly 200 Turkish executives from trade, industry, and stock exchange sectors, alongside over 100 Egyptian business representatives.

Bilateral relations have recently accelerated, with high-level visits and collaborations leading to joint projects in trade, energy, defense, tourism, health, technology, and agriculture. Trade volume between Türkiye and Egypt reached $8.8 billion in 2024, with Türkiye exporting $4.2 billion and importing $4.6 billion from Egypt, making Egypt Ankara’s largest trading partner in Africa.
