Kuwait Hosts Regional Workshop On Nuclear Safeguard


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Feb 4 (KUNA) -- The Ministry of Health, represented by the Radiation Protection Department, on Wednesday hosted a regional workshop on the implementation of Small Quantities Protocol safeguards, in coordination with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the International Nuclear Security Education Network (INSEP).
In a press statement, the ministry said the four-day workshop aims to enhance practical understanding of nuclear safeguards implementation, build technical capacity, and exchange best practices, supporting the safe and peaceful use of nuclear technologies in line with international nuclear and radiological security standards.
Director of the Radiation Protection Department Dr. Nasser Al-Juwaisri said hosting the workshop reflects Kuwait's commitment to strengthening international cooperation and enhancing national and regional capabilities in nuclear safety.
The workshop featured international experts, trainees, and representatives from nine countries, which underscores the workshop's importance as a platform for knowledge exchange and regional cooperation in nuclear safeguards and radiological security. (end)
