Pakistan, Kazakhstan Sign 37 Agreements

ISLAMABAD, Feb 4 (KUNA) -- Pakistan and Kazakhstan on Wednesday signed 37 Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) and agreements for promotion of cooperation across diverse fields during the visit of Kazakhstan President, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Islamabad.
According to state owned Radio Pakistan, the fields include petroleum, mining and geo sciences; maritime affairs, customs; railways; agriculture; Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development; health, education, science and technology, News Exchange and Broadcasting; Information Exchange and Professional Development; Climate Change and Environmental Protection; economy; culture and humanitarian collaboration; crime prevention and sports.
The two sides also signed a treaty on extradition and a transit trade agreement. The Kazakh President called on Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister House, where the two leaders had a one-on-one meeting. According to a press release by the PM Office, the meeting was followed by delegation level talks, in which key cabinet ministers from both sides participated.
Pakistan and Kazakhstan also signed a joint declaration for the establishment of strategic partnership between the two countries. The document was signed by Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif after the talks. (end)
