Disney Appoints Josh D'Amaro as New CEO
(MENAFN) The Walt Disney Company revealed Tuesday its selection of Josh D'Amaro, currently leading Disney Experiences, to assume the chief executive role, taking over from Bob Iger.
The leadership transition is scheduled for Disney's annual shareholder gathering on March 18. Iger will continue serving on the board in an advisory capacity through Dec. 31 before stepping away completely, the company disclosed in an official statement.
"Josh D'Amaro is an exceptional leader and the right person to become our next CEO," said Iger.
"He has an instinctive appreciation of the Disney brand, and a deep understanding of what resonates with our audiences, paired with the rigor and attention to detail required to deliver some of our most ambitious projects. His ability to combine creativity with operational excellence is exemplary and I am thrilled for Josh and the company," he added.
D'Amaro, who has spent 28 years with the entertainment giant, currently oversees the corporation's most substantial division—managing 185,000 staff members globally and generating $36 billion in annual revenue during 2025, Disney confirmed.
Under D'Amaro's stewardship, the experiences division has achieved record-breaking performance across guest satisfaction metrics, creative output, and profitability, the announcement stated.
