Türkiye, Saudi Arabia Pledge Deeper Cooperation

(MENAFN) Türkiye will persist in backing Syria’s security and plans to collaborate closely with Saudi Arabia on rebuilding efforts there, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated following talks with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Riyadh on Tuesday.

During the discussions, the two leaders exchanged views on regional and international matters, as well as on bilateral ties, energy cooperation, and defense issues, according to a release from Türkiye’s Communications Directorate.

Erdogan also underscored that Ankara remains actively engaged in initiatives aimed at rebuilding Gaza, while calling for intensified actions to resolve the ongoing humanitarian emergency.

The talks further included an in-depth review of the most recent developments in Yemen and the evolving situation across East Africa.

Erdogan conveyed a strong resolve to elevate relations between Türkiye and Saudi Arabia to a "higher level" through concrete measures spanning multiple sectors.

In a joint declaration, both sides commended the robustness of their economic relationship in areas such as commerce, finance, and investment, and concurred on the necessity of expanding this cooperation, especially in fields deemed strategically important by both nations.

They additionally agreed to capitalize on investment prospects presented by Saudi Vision 2030 and the Century of Türkiye vision, aiming to generate shared gains for the two economies.
