India's Coffee Export Volumes Fall 4.5% In 2025, Earnings Jump 22.5%: Coffee Board
The rise in export value was supported by higher unit price realisation. The average export value increased to Rs 4.65 lakh per tonne in 2025, up from Rs 3.48 lakh per tonne in the previous year.
Decline in Arabica and Robusta Exports
Coffee Board data showed a sharp fall in Arabica coffee exports, which dropped by 65 per cent to 15,607 tonnes in 2025 from 44,315 tonnes a year earlier. Robusta coffee exports also declined, falling by 13 per cent to 1.80 lakh tonnes from 2.07 lakh tonnes during the same period, reported PTI.
Instant Coffee Shows Growth
In contrast to the overall decline in green coffee shipments, exports of instant coffee recorded growth. Shipments rose by 11.56 per cent to 46,954 tonnes in 2025, compared with 42,054 tonnes in the previous year, indicating steady demand for value-added coffee products.
Key Export Markets
Italy, Russia and Germany emerged as the top three destinations for Indian coffee exports in 2025. Shipments to Italy totalled 60,688 tonnes, followed by Russia at 31,505 tonnes and Germany at 28,840 tonnes.
India currently ranks seventh in global coffee production and fifth in coffee exports, according to industry data.
