UAE-India Travel: Spicejet To Launch Ahmedabadsharjah Flights In February
Indian low-cost carrier SpiceJet announced on X Tuesday that it will launch non-stop flights between Ahmedabad and Sharjah from February 5, strengthening air connectivity between Gujarat and the UAE.
Sharjah will become SpiceJet's second destination in the UAE after Dubai, as the airline looks to tap strong demand from business travellers, tourists, and the large Indian expatriate community in the region.

Return fares are currently available from around Dh900, subject to availability and applicable taxes and surcharges, according to booking details on the airline's website.
Ahmedabad is a major commercial and cultural hub in Gujarat, with strong trade and family links to the UAE. The new route is expected to benefit frequent travellers, small business owners, and families who regularly travel between the two regions.
“Sharjah's position as a key regional hub makes it an important addition to our network,” said Debojo Maharshi, Chief Business Officer at SpiceJet.“The launch reflects growing demand for travel between India and the UAE, and our focus remains on expanding connectivity where passengers need it most,” he added.
For many UAE residents with roots in Gujarat, the direct connection is a welcome development.“This will save us a lot of time and hassle,” said Rajesh Patel, a Gujarati expat who frequently travels to Ahmedabad for work.“A direct Sharjah flight, especially at night, makes it much easier to plan short trips.”
Sharjah already has strong air links with India. Sharjah International Airport currently handles around 25 daily flights to Indian cities, largely operated by Air Arabia, along with services from carriers such as Air India Express. Popular routes include Mumbai, Delhi, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, and Surat.
Bookings for the Ahmedabad–Sharjah flights are now open through SpiceJet's website, mobile app, and authorised travel agents.
