ACB Appoints Radford As Batting Coach, Ahmun As S&C Trainer

(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) KABUL (Pajhwok): The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has appointed Toby Radford as the new batting coach and Robert Ahmun as strength and conditioning trainer for the national team.

In a statement, the ACB said Radford, from the United Kingdom, is a well-known Welsh cricket coach and former first-class cricketer who represented Middlesex and Sussex.

It added that he is widely recognised for his expertise as an ECB Level 4–certified coach and brings extensive experience to the role.

The statement recalled that Radford was a key member of the West Indies coaching staff during their ICC T20 World Cup triumph in 2012 and their historic Test series victory over England in 2019, during his second stint with the Caribbean side.

Meanwhile, Robert Ahmun, from Cardiff, Wales, is an elite strength and conditioning (S&C) specialist. He most recently served as head of performance science and medicine at the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

The two newly appointed coaches are set to join the squad ahead of a three-match T20 International series against the West Indies.

The Rashid Khan-led side will play the first match on January 19, followed by the second on January 21 and the third on January 22.
