Elon Musk had everyone scratching their heads some years ago when he named his eldest child with musician Grimes 'X Æ A-12', later changed to 'X Æ A-Xii' to comply with California laws. The billionaire entrepreneur has grabbed attention once again, revealing the unique names of his twins with Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis.

Their names, though not as complex as 'X Æ A-Xii', are quite unique. Musk revealed in a post on X that his son is named Strider Sekhar, "after Aragorn and great Indian physicist Chandrasekhar".

Strider refers to the Lord of the Rings character, Aragorn, a protagonist in JRR Tolkien's fantasy fiction series. Aragorn is a Ranger of the North, first introduced with the name Strider and later revealed to be the heir of Isildur, an ancient King of Arnor and Gondor.

'Sekhar', meanwhile, honours renowned Indian-American astrophysicist Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar, who won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1983.

Musk's daughter's name, Comet Azur, has gaming and fantasy references. She has been named "after the most powerful spell in Elden Ring", his X post said. Elden Ring is an action role-playing game with worldbuilding provided by 'A Song of Ice and Fire' writer George RR Martin.

Musk has four children with Zilis - the twins born via IVF in 2021, a child born in 2024 via surrogacy and a child born in 2025. Zilis has Indian roots through her mother, Sharda Zilis, who is of Punjabi origin.
