Israeli Forces Kill Two Palestinians in West Bank

(MENAFN) Two Palestinians died at the hands of Israeli military personnel in the occupied West Bank on Sunday, official sources confirmed.

Palestine's General Authority of Civil Affairs announced in a statement that Muhammad Iyad Abahra, 16, was fatally shot by Israeli forces late Saturday in Silat al-Harithiya village within western Jenin governorate.

The Israeli army withheld his body, the statement added.

Israeli troops stormed Silah al-Harithiya late Saturday, discharging live ammunition and deploying stun grenades against Palestinians, a Palestinian news agency reported.

A second Palestinian was fatally shot by Israeli personnel in Hebron, located in the southern West Bank, for allegedly attempting to stab soldiers, the news agency said.

According to the outlet, Israeli soldiers shot the young man in the head at the northern entrance of Hebron City and left him bleeding and prevented medical teams from reaching him.

Authorities released no identification details for the victim.

Israeli military forces and unauthorized settlers have killed at least 1,093 Palestinians throughout the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, wounded nearly 11,000, and detained approximately 21,000 since October 2023, Palestinian statistics indicate.

Last July, the International Court of Justice issued a landmark ruling declaring Israel's occupation of Palestinian territories illegal and demanding evacuation of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
