55 Arrested Over Various Crimes In Herat In A Week

HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): About 55 individuals have been arrested in connection with various crimes in western Herat province during the past one week, police said on Sunday.
In a statement, the media office of the police headquarters said security and intelligence forces carried out several separate intelligence-based and operational actions during the past week, resulting in the arrests.
It said the suspects were detained in connection with crimes including murder, armed robbery, theft of vehicles and jewelry, illegal possession of weapons and other criminal offences.
Meanwhile, police spokesman Ghulam Nabi Nabizada said that during the past week, 14 different types of vehicles and 11 stolen mobile phones were recovered and returned to their owners.
He added that today, four more stolen vehicles were recovered by personnel of the 12th police district and will be handed over to their owners.
