Wynn Al Marjan Island announced on Monday that when it opens in Spring 2027, the resort will unveil a museum-calibre art collection featuring masterpieces, iconic works, and newly commissioned pieces by regional and international artists.

Displayed across public spaces, guest areas, and rooms, the collection will offer an immersive 'Living Gallery' experience built around one of the region's most significant private art holdings.

Spanning the prehistoric, ancient, Victorian, Old Master, natural-world, and Orientalist periods, the collection promises a breadth never before seen in a single hospitality destination. Highlights include a 66-million-year-old Triceratops skull, a specially commissioned Light Into Life sculpture by British artist Marc Quinn, and a 17th-century, 10-metre wool-and-silk tapestry with counterparts at the Louvre and The Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Wynn will also feature major works from its global properties, such as Jeff Koons' 11-meter Tulips from Wynn Las Vegas, a Jaume Plensa sculpture from his Secret Garden series, and a rare quartet of 18th-century Buccleuch vases from Wynn Palace in Macao.

Todd-Avery Lenahan, President and Chief Creative Officer of Wynn Design & Development, explained the resort's approach:“Wynn Al Marjan Island's approach to art goes far beyond acquisition. By integrating art into the resort fabric, Wynn invites guests to discover these pieces in an informal, engaging, and meaningful way. Too often, art becomes forgettable when presented in a formal or static way. We take the opposite approach, designing moments that encourage engagement across every age and background.”

A significant component of the collection reinterprets the East-West artistic dialogue of 19th-century Orientalism. Unlike the traditional journey of Western artists bringing Middle Eastern imagery to Europe, this collection returns historically significant works to the region that inspired them.

Featured pieces include Caravan in the Desert by Gustave Guillaumet and Rudolf Ernst's Entering the Temple, both depicting Islamic culture across North Africa, Turkey, and Egypt. Many works, long held in private collections, will be publicly exhibited for the first time in decades.

Lenahan added,“There is an extraordinary cultural legacy in this region. Its influence on great Orientalist painters was profound. These works deserve to be contextualised with accuracy and respect; they are not decorations; they are the foundation of a living gallery. We built a resort around the art, not the other way around.”

Alongside historic masterpieces, the collection celebrates contemporary regional voices. Algerian artist Faïza Maghni's works, inspired by Persian miniatures, will feature in rooms and suites, emphasising intentionality in every piece.“Every artwork carries intention,” Lenahan said.“Nothing is gratuitous or placed for decoration alone. A resort of this calibre is a home for both established masters and tomorrow's names.”

From the moment guests arrive, the collection scale and emotion are apparent. Statement pieces anchor entrances, while sculptures and delicate works are displayed in both expected and surprising contexts to encourage pause and reflection.

Set across more than 60 hectares, Wynn Al Marjan Island will feature 1,217 resort rooms, 297 Enclave suites, two Royal Apartments, four Garden Townhomes, and 10 Marina Estates. The resort will also offer 22 dining venues, a beach club, a spa, a skylit shopping parterre, Coral Court for events, a new theater experience, 12 pools, a 420-metre white sand beach, and a deep-water marina for superyachts.

Construction is progressing on schedule, with topping-out of the resort's iconic 300-metre spire planned for November 2025.

Wynn Al Marjan Island is set to redefine luxury hospitality in the UAE, offering guests a rare fusion of world-class art, culture, and resort experiences.
