Sharjah: 130 Classic Cars Come Together For UAE National Day Rally
Cars as old as 60 years, along with dozens of other vintage models across different eras, came together on Tuesday for the third edition of Rally Masar 71, a classic-car convoy organised by the Sharjah Old Cars Club to celebrate the UAE's 54th National Day.
As many as 130 participants from the UAE and neighbouring GCC countries, many of whom arrived with finely restored vehicles, joined in the rally. Owners gathered early at the Sharjah Old Cars Club headquarters, where vehicles were inspected and lined up for the journey.

The drive was a shift from Sharjah's urban roads to desert landscapes, with the classic cars moving in formation through the sand-lined highway.

From Al Badayer, participants continued toward Kalba's Hanging Gardens, a new attraction that offered a contrasting backdrop for the vehicles. Drivers made a short stop before proceeding to the next location.
The rally had a stop at the Roman Amphitheatre in Khorfakkan, overlooking the mountains and coastline. The convoy then moved north toward Dibba Al Hisn, stopping near Anchor Café. Following the coastal leg, the cars returned to Sharjah, concluding the loop at the Old Cars Club.
Closing ceremony and awardsA ceremony was held at the club headquarters, where organisers presented awards in categories such as best restoration, best-preserved model, and standout participation.
Rally Masar 71 has grown over the years, becoming a platform for hobbyists to exchange knowledge, display restoration work, and highlight Sharjah's diverse natural and cultural sites.
With engines humming and flags waving, this year's rally stood as a reminder that the UAE's story continues to inspire, from its desert origins to its rising coastal cities, and in the hearts of those who cherish its heritage.
