Doha: Qatar's stock market closed higher onTuesday, with the benchmark index rising 52.87 points, or 0.50%, to finish at 10,674.06.

Trading activity was relatively strong, with more than 137.5 million shares changing hands, worth QR 425.4 million, across 30,317 transactions spanning all sectors.

Market sentiment was broadly positive as 31 companies saw their share prices rise, 17 declined, while 3 remained unchanged.

The total market capitalisation climbed to QR 638.02 billion, up from QR 635.47 billion at the previous session's close.
