Pilot Dies After Two Aircraft Collide Mid-Air
Dhaka: A pilot has died after 2 light aircraft collided mid-air near an airfield in Sydney's south-west.
Just before midday, emergency services were called to the scene of a light aircraft crash near Napperfield Airfield at Wedderburn, near Appin.
Police were told two aircraft crashed mid-air, sending one plummeting into bushland. The body of one pilot, believed to be the only occupant of the aircraft, was recovered.
The other pilot was able to land safely at the airfield and was uninjured.
Two crimes scenes are being examined by NSW Police and an investigation into the cause of the crash will be undertaken by the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB).
