Aspin Stallions stormed into the Abu Dhabi T10 final with a thumping seven-wicket win over Quetta Qavalry in Qualifier 1 at Zayed Cricket Stadium on Saturday.

Despite the defeat, Quetta can still reach the tournament final by beating the UAE Bulls in Qualifier 2 on Sunday.

The Bulls beat Ajman Titans by 47 runs in the Eliminator later on Saturday to keep their hopes alive.

The Qualifier 2 and the final of the star-studded event are scheduled for Sunday.

On Saturday, the Stallions had Sherfane Rutherford to thank for their emphatic win as the West Indies star scored a stunning 66 not out off 22 balls (6 fours and 6 sixes).

Thanks to Rutherford's sparkling half-century - his first of the tournament this season - the Stallions reached home with seven balls and seven wickets to spare.

Chasing 103, the Rahmanullah Gurbaz-led team were in trouble after they lost two wickets for just 13 runs.

But Rutherford's 64-run partnership with Gurbaz (19) put the team back on track. Even as Mohammad Amir (2-0-5-1), who was outstanding for Qavalry, dismissed Gurbaz with the Stallions still needing 26 runs off 13 balls, Rutherford finished the match in style by scoring 22 runs off just four balls against pace bowler Khuzaima Tanveer.

Earlier, Quetta batters failed to convert their starts as the Stallions restricted them to 102 for six with Karim Janat (2/9) and Binura Fernando (2/14) taking two wickets each.

Meanwhile, Phil Salt (59 off 26 balls, 2 fours, 7 sixes), Tim David (40 off 13 balls, 1 four, 5 sixes) and Rovman Powell (32 not out off 10 balls, 3 fours and 3 sixes) put on a six-hitting exhibition as the UAE Bulls registered the highest total of the season - 162 for three in 10 overs - in their resounding 47-run win over Ajman Titans in the Eliminator on Saturday.

Chasing the massive total, the Titans got off to a fine start with Alex Hales (35 off 18 balls, 3 fours and 3 sixes) and Aneurin Donald (37 off 18 balls, 1 four, 3 sixes) putting on a 68-run opening partnership in just 5.1 overs.

But the Bulls' UAE pace bowler Junaid Siddique (2-0-12-2) rose to the challenge beautifully by dismissing England batter Hales and South African star Rilee Rossouw (0) in successive deliveries of the sixth over.

The Titans never recovered from the back-to-back blows from Siddique, ending up with a score of 115 for four and crashing out of the tournament.

The Bulls, on the other hand, will meet Quetta Qavalry in Qualifier 2 on Sunday afternoon for a place in the final.

The Qualifier 2 will get underway at 3:30 pm with the final taking place at 5:45 pm on the same ground.
