Muttaqi, Turkish Envoy Discuss Bilateral, Regional Cooperation
KABUL (Pajhwok): Minister of Foreign Affairs Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi and Turkish Chargé d'Affaires in Kabul Cenk Ünal discussed bilateral and regional issues, as well as ways to expand political and economic ties between the two countries.
Muttaqi held a farewell meeting with Ünal, whose diplomatic mission in Afghanistan has concluded, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) said.
A ministry statement said both sides reviewed bilateral and regional matters and explored avenues to further strengthen political and economic cooperation between Afghanistan and Turkey.
Muttaqi expressed appreciation for Turkey's efforts in facilitating talks between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Ünal, in turn, praised the support and cooperation provided by MoFA and officials of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA).
“I am pleased to have successfully completed my mission in Afghanistan, working to strengthen comprehensive relations between the two countries,” Ünal said.
