Turkey marks International Day of Solidarity with Palestinian People
(MENAFN) Türkiye marked the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People on Saturday, emphasizing its unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and their ongoing struggle for freedom, according to reports.
“We will continue our efforts with the same determination to establish a just and lasting peace where our Palestinian brothers and sisters can live in freedom and prosperity,” Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated on the social media platform NSosyal.
Fidan highlighted that Ankara has provided its strongest backing yet for the protection of Palestinian rights, stressing that achieving a two-state solution is essential for long-term stability and peace in the region.
Separately, Türkiye’s Communications Director Burhanettin Duran said on NSosyal that the day “signifies being a voice for the oppressed, standing on the side of justice, and upholding humanity's shared conscience.”
He added that “the occupation and oppression that have persisted for years in the Palestinian territories are a test not only for one people, but for all of humanity.”
Duran also noted that despite tremendous challenges, Palestinians have remained resolute “with dignity” and have become a powerful symbol of resistance, justice, and human dignity. He emphasized that Türkiye considers the Palestinian cause not merely a regional issue, but one that reflects the conscience of all humanity.
