Alula Wins Two Top Titles At The 2025 MEPRA Awards In Dubai

November 2025, AlUla, Saudi Arabia – AlUla, an oasis of culture and ancient civilisation in northwest Arabia, has won two top titles at this year's edition of the Middle East Public Relations Association (MEPRA) held in Dubai.

Judges at the prestigious media industry event named AlUla's 'History Awakens' campaign, part of the annual Ancient Kingdoms Festival, as the year's Best Travel, Tourism & Hospitality Campaign, with the AlUla 'Instagram Creators Summit' presented with the Gold award in the 'Best Stunt, Live Event' category.

A central element in AlUla's long-running Ancient Kingdoms Festival, 'History Awakens' was a unique destination influencer campaign that achieved remarkable results, reaching 217 million people across 21 countries and spurring 91% increase in ticket sales to the festival itself, successfully attracting visitors beyond the event's traditional audience of history enthusiasts.

Organised in partnership with Meta, the 'Instagram Creators Summit' brought together 43 of the region's most influential creators. Those participating in the three-day summit shared AlUla's unique culture, history and line-up of incredible experiences with a combined audience of 206 million followers across social media.

Held at Atlantis Dubai, the awards were presented to team members from Burson, the global communications agency that helps to share the story of northwest Arabia's culture and heritage with a global audience, alongside partners from AlUla.

Located 1,100 km from Riyadh, in North-West Saudi Arabia, AlUla is a place of extraordinary natural and human heritage. In addition to Hegra, AlUla is also home to ancient Dadan, the capital of the Dadan and Lihyan Kingdoms and considered to be one of the most developed 1st millennium BCE cities of the Arabian Peninsula, and Jabal Ikmah, an open-air library of hundreds of inscriptions and writings in many different languages, which has been recently listed on the UNESCO's memory of the World Register. Also, AlUla Old Town Village, a labyrinth of more than 900 mudbrick homes developed from at least the 12th century, has been selected as one of the World's Best Tourism Villages in 2022 by the UNWTO.
