Russia Reports Seizure of Vasiukivka in Donetsk

(MENAFN) Russia announced on Thursday that its troops have gained control of another settlement in Ukraine’s Donetsk region, continuing their military operations in the protracted conflict that has lasted more than three and a half years.

The Russian Defense Ministry stated that its forces have taken over the village of Vasiukivka, situated roughly 29 kilometers (18 miles) east of Kramatorsk, which serves as the administrative hub of the eastern Ukrainian region.

This follows Moscow’s capture of Donetsk city back in 2014.

Ukrainian officials have not yet responded to the announcement, and independent confirmation of the development remains challenging due to the ongoing hostilities.
